SWAMI VIVEKANANDA PUPPET SHOW INFORMATION:
On October 14 & 15th 2017, a renowned puppet theatre group from India, Bhartiya Lok Kala Mandal, is fittingly performing at several venues in Dublin. The puppets are beautifully and artistically carved and painted by hand and appear against an equally imaginative stage backdrop.
The colourful show illustrates the life and events of the great Swami Vivekananda, who is widely credited with raising interfaith awareness and bringing Hinduism to the status of a major world religion during the late 19th century.
The three Dublin events - which are free to attend- are matched with a sense of celebration on the 150th anniversary of Sister Nivedita, an Irish born educationalist, national heroine and disciple of Swami Vivekananda.
October 14th: 6pm- 8pm
Assumption School, Walkinstown, Dublin 12
October 15th: 3pm - 5pm & 5.30 - 7.30pm
Kilnamanagh Family Recreation Centre, Dublin 24
The 75 minute long show has toured USA, Canada, Malaysia, Japan and other countries, receiving outstanding reviews and resounding applause to full theatres and schools.
The shows' much anticipated arrival to Irish shores is brought to you by the Ramakrishna Mission, New Delhi, in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture, Government of India, Indian Embassy (Ireland), Dublin City Interfaith Forum, Eire Vedanta Society and the Vedic Hindu Cultural Centre of Ireland.
In keeping with the celebratory occassion, authentic Indian street food (and free parking) will be there to enjoy at both venues:
