♥ Featured Artist: Kevin Hector ♥
We are so pleased to announce Kevin Hector as our featured artist for this event. Check out his incredible work by clicking on the link below:
Kevin's Art
At an early age, Kevin Hector realised that he had an aptitude for art. By the time Kevin celebrated his 8 year birthday, this gift was endorsed when he won the Natal Schools Art competition for aspiring junior artists. Kevin is largely a self-taught artist however he has enjoyed hours of technical training from the likes of prominent South African artists such as Jancke Combrinck, Ken Hunkin, Dale Elliot and Derric van Rensburg. He also had the privilege of being tutored by professor Ho of Beijing China. After completing his schooling in Johannesburg, Kevin continued his tertiary education and ultimately served as a director in a division of one of South Africa’s largest banks. After taking early retirement, Kevin moved to Somerset West in the Western Cape and has been painting full-time ever since. Kevin works mainly in the mediums of oil and acrylic drawing with brush and charcoal. His desire has always been to translate onto canvas his interpretation of the beauty of the planet earth with its many creatures thereby bringing honour to the Creator. His paintings include amongst others landscapes; seascapes; wildlife; still life and now and again abstract art. Kevin’s reference material is obtained mainly from his travels throughout Africa and Europe and he has an affinity for painting mountains, trees and especially South African indigenous Nguni Cattle with their beautiful colours and textures. Kevin’s work is exhibited mainly in South African galleries in the Western Cape and Johannesburg and also sold through his agent in Brussels Europe.
