This Sunday @ Pllek we will explore the posture of Hanuman … what is the myth behind this asana and how can it support you in daily life?
Hanuman is one of the most popular Gods (half human half monkey) in Hinduism and Budhism and a shining example of Bhakti Yoga. Through practice of Bhakti Yoga (the Yoga of Love), we learn to dedicate our life to the divine which means to deepen our relationship with the divine qualities within ourselves. We focus and trust on what we are capable of and use our courage and strength to reach our goals instead of being insecure and afraid and not coming forward.
This class has a gentle tempo, stretching and opening the back of the legs, exploring standing postures and backward bending. While doing so we tap into our reservoir of faith and power. We don’t judge or doubt; we just go for it with full dedication. The peak pose is Hanumanasana, but remember the journey is more important than reaching the goal.
This class is suitable for beginners and more advanced practicioners. Guided in English by Noëlle Sterk.
