Field Trip 2B: Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge

Fri 23 March à 18:00

Timezone : Paris (GMT+01:00)

Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge
Broad Channel

• What we'll do
Explore Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge, part of Gateway National Recreation Area and see first hand how human activities shape nature around us.

• What to bring
Dress for the weather. It is often colder and windier here than elsewhere in the City.
Bring binoculars, if you have them. I will have a few pairs to share.
Wear good walking shoes. We will be walking about 2 miles (though slowly) and there is a mile walk form the subway if you take it.

• Important to know
by subway, take the A train to Broad Channel, and walk about a mile down Cross Bay Boulevard (turn right on Cross Bay when leaving station). There is also bus service... the Q35-SBS stops right at the entrance to the refuge. Allow about and hour and a half (maybe a little more) from campus by public transit.
