Families are invited to dance, sing and unleash their inner rock star at Marion’s first community music festival.
Concert at the Cove includes four hours of live music, come and try activities and competitions.
The free event will showcase the best of classic pop and rock from 2pm to 6pm at Heron Way Reserve, Hallett Cove on Sunday, 25 March.
On the Main stage
Headliners are party band, Escapades, which will perform a unique mix of pop, funk and soul.
The Decibels will get the party started with a string of 50s and 60s rock ‘n’ roll classics.
Breezin will then hit the stage with a performance of rock classics.
Food and refreshments
Relax on the grass, enjoy views of the coastline and dine on dishes from throughout the world from more than 20 Fork in the Road food trucks.
For the kids
The Amazing Drumming Monkeys and Noises for Kids will have children of all ages laughing and singing along.
Make a musical instrument from recycled materials, design an album cover, decorate a microphone
Great prizes are up for grabs:
Rock Star Parade – dress as your favourite musician or singer and strut your stuff
Air guitar – Show what you can do with an imaginary guitar and backing track
Come and try
Rock ‘n’ roll dance
Musical instruments, including trumpet, drums and ukulele
Sing at an open mic session
Record and music stall
Buy, sell and swap records and musical instruments
Concert at the Cove celebrates the completion of the more than $1 million upgrade of Grand Central Reserve that now contains an amphitheatre, public art, paths and landscaped areas.
The event will be broadcast live by Coast FM 88.7.
