In SPOKE, Accidental Theatre burrows into the neighbourhood around our pop-up theatre at 12-13 Shaftesbury Square.
Tickets are completely FREE but pre-booking is essential!
SPOKE will bring to life a pantheon of tiny performances in the streets. With localities that have been nicknamed the Second City Centre and the Golden Mile, this often-overlooked community is home to some of Belfast’s oldest residential areas and most curious stories. With long-time residents and local artists, we’ll discover the sights and sounds, history and fables, characters and quirks that have shaped this place. Audiences are invited to see it anew with a mini mobile theatre festival.
On both days, the hub at 12-13 Shaftesbury Square will also host music, screenings, talks, coffee, and a chance to choose your own theatre adventure. Each tiny play in SPOKE will illuminate a special corner of the city, all within walking or biking distance of the hub. Grab a map and explore our neighbourhood (past, present, and imagined) through sparkling new writing and gripping performances.
This project is supported by the Belfast City Council and is part of their Arts Weekender.
