In December, residents had the opportunity to suggest names for 17 neighborhood communities in the City as part of the campaign, which aims to officially name these areas by mid-February 2018. Each neighborhood community’s most popular name suggestions were shortlisted, and residents can now vote for their favorites.
Residents suggested more than 250 names in the first phase of the campaign. This naming campaign is part of the City’s Neighborhood Improvement and Community Engagement (NICE) program.
Public information meetings are scheduled for Wednesday, January 17 from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at City Hall, 121 SW Port St. Lucie Blvd.; and Thursday, January 18 and Monday, January 22 from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Port St. Lucie Community Center, 2195 SE Airoso Blvd.
The meeting on January 17 also will be broadcast live on the City’s Facebook page, https://www.facebook.com/cityofpsl/ for residents who cannot attend in person. The live Facebook broadcast will enable residents to ask questions and get real-time answers no matter where they are located.
Final voting is now available for the following unnamed neighborhood communities with these temporary names:
