Leading Polish choreographer Maciej Kuźmiński returns to Laban Theatre with his compelling double bill of Repetition and Room 40.
Inspired by Deleuze and the concept that "thinking is a game of difference and repetition”, Repetition is a visual essay about transitions of identity, which questions the very essence of repetition itself. The differences and similarities between two women seem to blur, and a complicated choreographic score demands a near-impossible level of concentration from the performers.
In Room 40, seemingly disparate scenes connect, taking the spectator on a journey from total involvement to self-awareness, from a small dance of muscle spasms to virtuosic movement driven by intention. A great opportunity to see both works in the UK.
