The Big Comfy Bookshop proudly presents the award winning acoustic evening 'Comfy & Acoustic'.
Intimate performances from the best UK (and beyond) musicians covering folk, Americana, singer-songwriters and roots.
Alden, Patterson & Dashwood
Norwich based folk / Americana trio Alden, Patterson and Dashwood weave rich vocal harmonies, fiddle, dobro, guitar and mandolin around beautifully written original songs and melodies. The independently-released debut album ‘Call Me Home’ was written and produced at home in Norwich and is lovingly presented in attractive handmade covers, designed and hand-printed by the band. Their music takes influence from folk traditions from both sides of the Atlantic with uplifting instrumentals and self-penned songs depicting tales of young travellers, sleepy seas and their affection for home.

Robert J Hunter
Dirty rhythm and blues from the depths of Alderney, based in London. Island born Robert J. Hunter combines his gruff and powerful voice with the wild thud of overdriven blues guitar.
His powerful debut album, ’Songs for the Weary’, received blues chart success and critical acclaim and the single release, ‘Demons’, reached number one in the UK iTunes Blues Chart.
‘Before the Dawn’ followed late 2015 showing that Robert had matured and developed as a singer, songwriter and instrumentalist.
His latest album, a solo release, demonstrates not only the versatility of Robert’s musical ability but also the diversity in his songwriting. ‘Where I’m From’, released December 2016 through independent label, Spiritual Records.
In 2017 Robert was a finalist in the International Songwriting Competition (ISC) with his powerful ballad, ‘Preacher’ which was chosen from 16,000 entries
