Fabio Di Gioia will take us through Foodscovery and how a digital platform that works as a system integrator of the entire industry (food makers, shipping & logistics, payments & invoices, buyers, customer service) could allow a sustainable development of small family farms (usually located in not easily accessible villages) by allowing them to sell and export their products abroad. The idea is that, nowadays, thanks to digital software and infrastructures, small family businesses could work on a global scale without moving their office from the village where they are located and without the need of hiring tens of professionals to manage their sales. Using digital technologies and adapting their business to an always growing digital environment, family farms could remain small but enhance their sales, efficiency and profitability without lowering the quality of the products they produce.
This event is part of WE SUSTAIN, MM's first birthday celebration. The weekend explores Mercato Metropolitano’s mission of shaping the way we think about food safety, environment, sustainability and social inclusiveness in London.
