We're delighted to announce that post-rock/drone/ambient/dark jazz group A-Sun Amissa will be coming to The Cumberland Arms on Thursday 12th October as part of their UK/EU tour in support of their new album The Gatherer. Advance tickets can be bought for just £5 from WeGotTickets now: http://www.wegottickets.com/event/411669
A-Sun Amissa
Led by Richard Knox [Shield Patterns, Glissando], A-Sun Amissa have built a formidable catalogue of engaging, emotional, drone-driven post-rock. On their latest album The Gatherer, their first for Consouling Sounds, they dive further into their exploration of jazz and electronic textures. Featuring collaborators like Aidan Barker [Nadja], Claire Brentnall [Shield Patterns], Angela Chan [Tomorrow We Sail, Lanterns On The Lake], A-Sun Amissa's recorded and live work is a constantly evolving marvel.
Ten Sticks
The duo of Stuart Walkinshaw and Mark Cooper have been involved in plenty of bands and projects, but it's their work together as Ten Sticks that might be their most impressive. Blending sequenced electronics and textural guitar playing with expressive, free percussion, their mesmerising live sets are unmissable events.
Me Lost Me I Lost My
The solo project of artist and musician Jayne Dent, Me Lost Me [I Lost My] may be a fairly new project, but it's already attracting significant attention. Blending ideas of ambient abstraction, electronic loops and folk song, Dent has been broadcast on BBC Radio 3 and performed at this year's Evolution Emerging. With further recordings and releases in the pipeline, it'll be exciting to see where Me Lost Me goes next.
£5 advance / £7 otd.
