PIMP MY JAZZ is a funky combo from West London performing standards/covers, plus some original songs from their debut album. Song moods range from up-beat and swing to cool, romantic or lounge-style ballads. Most of the original music is written by the songwriting team Sparks & Shelley - guitarist Gavin K Sparks composed the music, assisted by lyricist Kay Shelley.
Their genre is easy-listening jazz and latin with a few diversions. They are an excellent and groovy band, and it has been said they sound very much like ‘Shakatak’ with their up-beat numbers. So look forward to moving your dancing shoes with this night at Champers Bar on Sunday September 23rd 2017 – (last seen at Champers at our ULTIMATE MUSIC MIX NIGHT as a supporting band to the Lovers Rock super star singer Janet Kay)
A well balanced mixture of their own compositions and standard pieces.
Great sounding band, George Benson Sade AWB all rolled into one. Easy listening with interesting instrumentals. Well worth a visit to their next gig.
Your original music is brilliant. It reminds me of Shakatak [jazz-funk] and Manhattan Transfer [jazz fusion]. And it's just as good - maybe better.
Singer has a lovely voice, very chilled and the range of songs was great.
At times your singer Lonette's smooth velvety voice reminds me of Karen Carpenter.
