From Interstate 287 North
Take 287 North to Exit 45 - Wootton Street. Proceed to the stop sign and turn LEFT onto Wootton. Pass under highway, through the light and up the hill to the blinking red light. Make a RIGHT on Boonton Ave. (County Rd. 511 N). Proceed about 2 miles and continue through the intersection with Rockaway Valley Rd (zig zag around Marrotta & Palmer's garage will be on your right). Proceed about 3/4 mile and you will see Pyramid Mountain entrance on the left and enter there.
From Interstate 287 South
Take Exit 45 Myrtle Ave, Boonton. Make a LEFT onto Myrtle Ave and go to 2nd light, make a RIGHT onto Wootton St. Go uphill to blinking red light, make Right onto Boonton Ave. and follow directions for 287 North.
From Rte. 23
In Butler, take Boonton Ave (Rte. 511 South) go about 4.5 miles, you will pass Taylortown Reservoir on your right, Pyramid Mountain entrance will be on your RIGHT.

Weather: This event will be held only if weather conditions permit (if a cancellation occurs, participants will be notified through a Meetup email).
Event Description: This loop hike will be in the Pyramid Mountain Natural Historic Area which encompasses Pyramid and Turkey mountains in Kinnelon, Boonton and Montville. Its features include unusual glacial erratics, dramatic rock outcrops, extensive wetlands and waterfalls. The two most remarkable erratics in the area are Bear Rock, one of the largest in the state, and Tripod Rock, a 160-ton boulder perched atop three smaller boulders.
What to bring: For this hike you should be properly dressed for a hike. Long pants, a long sleeve shirt and hiking boots are recommended. You should have water, snacks and a backpack to carry it all.
Costs: This park is free to the public, so there is no cost associated with this event.
