This will be a guided tour with much commentary which will encompass one of the least known, one of the most upcoming and the most historic of Brooklyn neighborhoods.
Beginning with the Brooklyn War Memorial in Cadman Plaza Park, we will make our way into the charming Vinegar Hill neighborhood to view such hidden treasures as a Tibetan Temple on the site of a former gas station. Then we will enter the trendy Dumbo area and explore the many waterfront parks along the East River. Crossing over the "swaying bridge" we will ascend to Brooklyn Heights. After a brief detour into the oldest section of Brooklyn Heights, we will take in the breath-taking views of the Promenade. The walk will end on Montague Street where there are many choices for late-lunch dining.
This will be a moderate paced walk (not a stroll) of about 4 1/2 miles. There will be ample restrooms stops but no lunch stops.
The closest Subway Station near the end point is the Court Street Station.
