We are very excited to invite you to an evening with Liam Brown and Stephan Collishaw.
Liam Brown and Stephan Collishaw will discuss the impact of writing across two genres and how juxtaposing themes adds depth to their storylines and characters.
After leaving school, Liam Brown spent five years working a series of increasingly mundane jobs, then after 18 months travelling and working the Philippines, he returned to the UK and began writing stories. His debut novel Real Monsters was published in 2015 and long-listed for the Guardian’s Not the booker prize, following closely by Wild Life in 2016. He lives in Birmingham with his wife and two children.
Stephan Collishaw was brought up on a Nottingham council estate and failed all his O’levels. His first novel, The Last Girl (2003), was chosen by the Independent of Sunday as one of its novels of the Year. Stephan now works as a teacher in Nottingham, having also lived and worked abroad in Lithuania and Mallorca, where his son Lukas was born.
We hope you can join us for what promises to be a fun and interesting evening.
